Grounded in Banking. Built for Development.
A Purpose-Built African Capital Firm
Woodland Capital Limited (WLC) was incorporated in June 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. The firm was founded with a singular conviction: Africa's development gap is not a shortage of opportunity — it is a shortage of structured capital alignment.
Founded by Philip Wambua — a banking executive with over 30 years of experience in treasury, structured finance, and capital markets — WLC brings institutional-grade discipline to project development across the continent. We operate as originator, structurer, mobiliser, and development partner.
Our approach is simple: identify viable African projects, structure them to investment-grade standards, and connect them with global capital partners who share our commitment to impact and returns.

Why We Exist
Our Mission
To unlock sustainable capital for Africa by developing structured, revenue-backed, impact-driven projects that create wealth, employment, and long-term economic resilience.
Our Vision
To become a leading African project structuring and capital mobilization platform — recognized for integrity, bankable structures, investor confidence, and sustainable development impact.
What Guides Us
Integrity
Every action is guided by ethical standards and fiduciary discipline inherited from three decades in regulated banking.
Bankable Structures
We build financial models that withstand rigorous lender scrutiny — because that is how capital gets deployed.
Sustainable Impact
Projects must generate measurable social, economic and environmental returns alongside financial yields.
Investor Confidence
Transparent governance, independent auditing, and clear reporting underpin everything we do.
